Microservices architecture

Team autonomy and independent deployments without losing consistency or observability.

Microservices architecture

Microservices architecture breaks monolithic applications into independent services, each with its own data and business logic. The result is autonomous teams, independent deployments and selective scaling.

The main challenges are service-to-service communication (synchronous or asynchronous), distributed data consistency, service discovery and resilience. Patterns such as API Gateway, Circuit Breaker, Saga and Service Mesh help address them.

Migration should be gradual and strategic: identify bounded contexts and extract the highest-value services first. Distributed tracing and latency monitoring are critical to operating them successfully.
