Artificial intelligence: from the perceptron to language models

Artificial intelligence has come a long way since its conceptual beginnings in the 1950s, becoming a technology that touches almost every industry. The journey began with Rosenblatt's perceptron in 1958, a simple model that laid the foundations of machine learning.

The 1980s and 1990s brought more complex neural networks and new learning algorithms. However, it was large volumes of data and GPU computing power that drove the deep learning renaissance of the 2010s.

Today, large language models, multimodal models and agents that can use tools are transforming entire industries. The challenge is no longer only technical: it is also about evaluation, governance and responsible use inside organizations.
